Nicolas Jaccard has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Nicolas began their career as an intern at the Laboratory of Cellular Biotechnology (LBTC) in 2005. Afterward, they joined UCL, where they held various roles, including Research Scientist, Demonstrator, Head Demonstrator, and Senior Research Associate. During their time at UCL, Nicolas also pursued their PhD research in CoMPLEX, UCL's center for interdisciplinary research in life sciences. In 2017, they became the Chief Technology Officer at Visulytix, a position they held until 2019 when they joined Predina as a Technical Advisor and later as Chief Technology Officer. Currently, Nicolas serves as the Principal Architect and Principal AI Architect at Orbis International, starting in 2020. Overall, their experience includes research, teaching, and leadership roles in the fields of biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and architecture.
Nicolas Jaccard obtained their Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from the University of Applied Sciences HES-SO Valais/Wallis in the years 2006 to 2009. Nicolas then pursued a Master's degree in Research with a specialization in Biological complexity modelling at UCL from 2009 to 2010. Finally, they completed their doctorate in Biomedical Image Processing and Analysis from UCL between 2010 and 2014, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree.
