Christopher Walthers, PhD is a Principal Scientist and QC Manager at Orca Bio since September 2020. Previously, Christopher served as an Assistant Project Scientist at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA from July 2017 to September 2020. Christopher also has experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher at UCLA Biomedical Engineering and as a Graduate Student at UCLA. Their expertise includes directing clinical trials for next generation CAR T-cell therapies and tissue engineering, specifically in generating a smooth muscle cell contractile phenotype. Additionally, Christopher has a background in data entry/analysis and computer programming related to environmental and genetic causes of Parkinson's Disease from their time as a Student Intern at Wadsworth Center. Christopher holds a Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering from UCLA, a Masters in Biomedical Engineering from UCLA, and a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
