Pedro Gomes

Pedro Gomes is a Doctoral Fellow at Faculdade de Psicologia e de Ciências da Educação da Universidade do Porto, contributing to the TOGETHER project focused on psychosocial adaptation to genetic testing in hereditary cancer risk. As a Bolseiro de Doutoramento FCT and psychologist at Instituto Português de Oncologia do Porto, Pedro conducts research in oncogenetics, provides psychological support during the COVID-19 pandemic, and manages participant recruitment and data collection. Additionally, Pedro serves as a specialized consultant in telepsychology at the Order of Portuguese Psychologists and is the founder of ScaleUpCare, a project developing telepsychology practices. Previous roles include teaching clinical psychology workshops at Instituto Universitário da Maia and conducting clinical assessments and therapy as a psychologist. Pedro holds a Doctorate in Psychology from Universidade da Maia, specializing in clinical psychology, and has extensive experience in both clinical practice and research.
