Pedro Machado dos Santos is an experienced academic and practitioner in the field of gerontology and mental health. Currently serving as a Professor and Director of the Master's Degree in Social Gerontology at Universidade Lusófona, Pedro has also held positions as a Researcher at ICBAS- Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar and a Member of the Research Team at CINTESIS - Center for Health Technology and Services Research since 2010. With a robust private practice as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist since 2002, Pedro has provided international consultancy for the World Health Organization, contributing to national strategies on mental health. Key projects include leading research on cognitive stimulation for older adults with cognitive impairment and serving as a Consultant in Aging and Mental Health for the Mental Health National Program. Pedro holds a PhD in Psychogeriatrics from Universidade do Porto and a Master's degree in Social Gerontology from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
