Mark Doyle is an experienced neuroscientist and educator with a diverse background in electrophysiology and biophysics. As the owner of Doyle Sail School Sauvie Island since 2003, Mark provides sailing lessons by appointment. In academia, Mark has served as a post-doctoral fellow and senior research associate at Oregon Health & Science University from 1999, focusing on synaptic transmission in the brainstem and autonomic nervous system. Additionally, Mark held a position as an assistant professor at George Fox University from 1999 to 2005, teaching general biology, anatomy, and advanced physiology. Mark has also contributed to community service as a vice chair on the board of commissioners for the Burlington Water District, where improvements to water infrastructure were implemented. Mark's education includes a PhD in Physiology & Pharmacology from Oregon Health & Science University and a BA in Biology and Chemistry from Eastern Oregon State University.
