Mark Kajitani Sphr

Mark Kajitani, SPHR, SHRM-SCP has extensive work experience in human resources and management. Mark is currently serving as the Director of People & Culture at OPB since July 2022. Prior to that, they worked at the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO) from October 2007 to August 2022, holding the position of Human Resources Manager/Risk Management and later HR Director. In these roles, they were responsible for developing and administering compensation and benefits programs, coordinating payroll functions, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws. Before joining IRCO, Mark worked as the Director of Human Resources at Danville Services from March 2003 to June 2007, where they managed workforce planning, employee relations, and workplace safety. Mark also has previous experience as a Manager at Kushi Institute from 2001 to 2002.

Mark Kajitani, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Ethnic Studies from the University of Oregon, where they attended from 1997 to 2001. In addition, they pursued post-baccalaureate continuing education in Business at Portland Community College. Mark also holds the certifications of SHRM-SCP, obtained from SHRM in January 2015, and SPHR, obtained from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in May 2008.
