Michael Lainoff

Retired State Director/part-time Project Manager at Oregon Small Business Development Center Network

Michael Lainoff has extensive experience in leadership roles focused on small business development and workforce initiatives. As the retired State Director and current part-time Project Manager for the Oregon Small Business Development Center Network since November 2014, Michael remains active in managing special projects. Prior to this, Michael served as State Director for the State of Oregon from August 2008 to November 2014, overseeing 19 Small Business Development Centers. Additionally, Michael was the Founding Director of the Arizona Rural Policy Institute at Northern Arizona University, where efforts were directed towards improving the quality of life in rural communities through research and policy assistance. Earlier experience includes serving as Dean of Workforce Development & Extended Learning at Coconino Community College and Center Director at the Oregon Coast Community College SBDC, providing essential support to small business owners. Michael holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction/Instructional Technology from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor’s degree in English/Creative Writing from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
