Roy Haggerty

Roy Haggerty serves as the Provost and Executive Vice President at Oregon State University since July 2025. Previously, from November 2019 to present, Roy Haggerty has been a member of the Board of Trustees at OMSI, serving as Treasurer from 2021 to 2023. From August 2022 to July 2025, Roy Haggerty held the positions of Professor of Geology & Geophysics and Executive Vice President and Provost at Louisiana State University, where significant academic and operational initiatives were implemented, resulting in LSU achieving a historic $160M grant for the FUEL project and a 30% increase in research expenditures. Roy Haggerty's extensive experience at Oregon State University includes roles as Dean of the College of Science, Associate Vice President for Research, Interim Dean of the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences, and head of the Geology program. Educationally, Roy Haggerty earned a Ph.D. in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from Stanford University, completed the Institute for Management and Leadership in Education at Harvard Graduate School of Education, and obtained a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Geology from the University of Alberta.
