Cassandra Furtado has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Cassandra started their career in 2007 as a Career Services Office Assistant at Emerson College, where they handled schedules, appointments, and provided support to staff members. In the same year, they also worked as an Assistant Accounts Payable Clerk at Emerson Hospital, managing a filing system and addressing clients' financial concerns.

In 2010, Cassandra joined Pearson and took on the role of Assistant Permissions Editor/Internal Project Manager. Their responsibilities included obtaining permissions for third-party material and coordinating the acquisition of educational resources. From 2012 to 2014, they became a Board Member/Event Planner at Partners in Business, collaborating with a team to organize fundraising events.

From 2013 to 2014, Cassandra held the position of Permissions Editor/Project Manager at Pearson, where they evaluated textbook manuscripts, determined project feasibility, and collaborated with various teams. Cassandra then progressed to become a Senior Project Manager - Rights Management & Licensing, overseeing the workload of permissions editors, troubleshooting escalated issues, and managing project schedules and budget restrictions.

In 2017, Cassandra took on a new role at Pearson as a Rights & Permissions/Licensing Supervisor, working with external vendors to evaluate and license third-party materials. Their responsibilities included generating statements of work, negotiating project budgets, and facilitating payments for vendor labor. Lastly, in 2019, they joined O'Reilly Media as a Contract Manager.

Throughout their career, Cassandra has demonstrated strong project management, negotiation, and organizational skills. Cassandra has also gained experience in event planning and budget management.

Cassandra Furtado attended Emerson College from 2007 to 2011, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Writing, Literature, and Publishing.
