Christopher Thompson

Christopher Thompson has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Christopher is currently employed at O'Reilly Media as a Principal Site Reliability Engineer since April 2022. Prior to this role, they worked at O'Reilly Media as a Principal Software Engineer, Platform Engineering from April 2021 to May 2022, and as a Senior Cloud Ops Engineer from November 2018 to April 2021.

Before joining O'Reilly Media, Christopher worked at MassMutual as a Site Reliability Engineer from April 2018 to November 2018. Christopher also worked at WordStream as a Software Engineer from April 2017 to April 2018.

Christopher has experience as a Software Engineering Contractor at Element Science, Inc. in 2017. During this time, they were the sole developer responsible for developing a RESTful API that served as the back end for an iOS companion app for a medical device. The API was hosted on AWS, written in Python using Flask, and stored data in a Postgres database.

Additionally, Christopher worked as a Software Engineer at Basis, an Intel company. Christopher initially worked there as an intern in 2015 and later joined them full-time from June 2016 to November 2016. Their key projects at Basis included creating a continuous deployment pipeline using Jenkins CI and SaltStack.

In 2014, Christopher worked as a Software Engineering Intern at NxStage Medical, Inc. where they primarily focused on a project related to the company's dialysis machine.

In 2013 and 2014, Christopher worked at Draper Laboratory as a Software Testing Co-Op. Christopher was involved in integration testing, software builds, manual writing, and code reviews for the Test Execution and Results Management division. Christopher also analyzed messaging data in hardware for the Systems Engineering Analysis division.

Earlier in their career, Christopher gained experience as a Web Development Intern at Quintiles from June 2012 to May 2013.

Christopher Thompson attended Fordham Preparatory School from 2007 to 2011. After completing high school, they went on to enroll at Northeastern University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Engineering from 2011 to 2016.
