Elizabeth Deterding has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of video production and editing. Elizabeth has worked as a Video Editor at O'Reilly in 2023. Prior to that, they were the Owner of Blue North Post-Production Services, where they specialized in editing, sound mixing, color grading, and designing motion graphics for web, social media, and e-learning content. Elizabeth also transcribed and subtitled videos, conducted research and licensing of third-party materials for video productions.

Elizabeth also worked as an Associate Digital Asset Coordinator at American Girl, where they applied detailed metadata to digital assets, quality checked assets for publishing, and retrieved assets for users. At Spectrum Brands, Inc, they served as a Videographer/Editor, developing creative treatments for videos, composing shots, operating cameras, editing, sound designing, color grading, and creating motion graphics for various types of videos.

During their time at Trek Bicycle, Elizabeth held multiple roles including Video Team Manager, Video Editor and Asset Coordinator. As the Video Team Manager, they supervised production and post-production work, collaborated with visual designers and brand managers, and directed shoots for various video types. As the Video Editor and Asset Coordinator, they edited, sound designed, color graded, and created motion graphics for videos on different platforms. Elizabeth also developed consumer education series and designed taxonomy and metadata standards for the video department.

Elizabeth's work experience also includes a role as a Digital Library Practicum at Recollection Wisconsin, where they wrote metadata and organized documentation to expand public access to knowledge. Elizabeth started their career at The Geo Group, working as a Manager of the A/V Department, overseeing staff, producing and directing recording sessions, establishing department budgets, and workflows. Elizabeth also served as a Video and Motion Graphics Editor, editing and creating motion graphics for videos in multiple languages. Additionally, they worked as an Audio Visual Project Manager, managing localization projects and coordinating efforts between contractors and the production team.

Elizabeth Deterding began their education at Ithaca College from 2004 to 2008, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Television/Radio. Elizabeth later pursued further education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2015 to 2019, focusing on Library and Information Science. During this time, they obtained a Master of Library & Information Science degree (MLIS) to complement their previous studies.
