Jonathan Fernandes

Jonathan Fernandes has had a diverse range of work experiences throughout their career. Jonathan started in 2001 as a Systems Engineer at Singapore Airlines and then worked as a Sales Engineer at Expand Networks and 2e2. In 2010, they became a Solution Design Architect at Verizon Enterprise Solutions and later transitioned to a Solution Architect role, where they led a multi-tower project with a value of over $50 million. In 2018, they joined DXC Technology as a Data Scientist and Machine Learning/Sales Engineer, where they served as a trusted advisor for AI projects and led teams in agile product development. Jonathan then moved on to KPMG UK as an Associate Director, where they led a team in creating a proof-of-concept for an NLP-based FinTech product. Jonathan also worked at an AI startup in stealth mode as a Principal Customer AI Engineer, focusing on NLP and Computer Vision with a specific interest in Transformers. Jonathan recently joined O'Reilly Media as an expert in Computer Vision and NLP using Transformers, and they will begin their tenure at Cohere in 2022.

Jonathan Fernandes holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore. Additionally, Jonathan Fernandes has obtained certifications in TOGAF 9 from The Open Group in October 2014, as well as an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
