Katja Kupka has a diverse and extensive work experience history. Katja started their career as an Assistant Financial Services at KPMG in 1996, where they worked until March 1997. Katja then joined Deutsche VerkehrsBank AG (now DVB Bank SE) as a Trainee and later became a Kreditbetreuerin. In August 1999, they moved to Commerzbank AG, where they worked as a Portfoliomanager until April 2001. After that, they became a Risikomanagerin, Vice President, and Prokuristin at DVB Bank SE from May 2001 to June 2017.

In parallel to their banking career, Katja also worked as a Pressesprecherin for the Frankfurt district of Amnesty International from June 2005 to January 2009.
