Kylie Castellaw

Kylie Castellaw has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Kylie began their career as a Photographer, Designer, and Blot Art Director at Ui Student Media from 2005 to 2008. Kylie then worked as a Usability Intern at User Centric, Inc. in 2009, where they gained experience in usability evaluations and user testing. In 2010, they joined The Kohl Group (Hewlett-Packard) as a Human Factors Specialist/Design Researcher, where they designed user interfaces, provided specifications, and conducted usability testing. Kylie continued their journey at Hewlett-Packard as a User Experience Designer from 2011 to 2015, where they worked on various tasks such as contextual inquiry, interviews, surveys, and design reviews.

In 2015, Kylie joined ThoughtWorks as a Lead Product Manager & Design Consultant. Kylie'srole involved coaching Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, and startups in getting successful products to market faster. Kylie also served as a Senior Designer from June 2015 to May 2016 and remained as the Lead Product Manager until December 2020.

From 2017 to present, Kylie has been working at O'Reilly Media as a Course Developer & Instructor. In this role, they have developed several live online and pre-recorded video courses focused on product management, Lean methodologies, and software development. The courses cater to practitioners and managers dealing with technical products. The feedback they have received for these courses has been extremely supportive, highlighting their clarity of articulation and effective teaching style.

Kylie's most recent work experience includes their current position as a Staff User Experience Researcher at Google, starting from December 2020. The details of their responsibilities and accomplishments in this role are not provided.

Kylie Castellaw obtained their high school diploma from Clarkston High School in 2003. Kylie then enrolled at the University of Idaho from 2003 to 2008, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design. In 2007, they had the opportunity to study abroad at HKU (Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht), focusing on Information Design and Interaction Design. Later on, from 2008 to 2010, Kylie pursued a Master of Science degree in Human Factors Psychology at the University of Idaho.
