Rafiq Elmansy Ph.D., Ma, Bsc, Fhea, Frsa, Ael

Rafiq Elmansy has had a diverse work experience. Rafiq is currently working at the University of Leeds, where they hold the position of Deputy Programme Leader and Lecturer. Prior to this, they worked as a Module Lead at Wrexham Glyndŵr University. From 2017 to 2021, Rafiq was a PhD Researcher at Northumbria University, where they contributed to research projects on the treatment of diabetic retinopathy and reducing COVID-19 infections. Rafiq also served as a Lecturer at Northumbria University, teaching courses on practical design processes and MA Luxury Brand Management.

In addition to their academic roles, Rafiq has held various positions in the industry. Rafiq worked as an Affiliate Faculty (Lecturer) at the American University in Cairo and founded Designorate.com, a platform that offers design thinking, user experience design, and innovation management training and consultation. Rafiq also served as a Subject Matter Expert at Certiport - A Pearson VUE Business, where they were involved in writing Adobe Certified Associate exams. Rafiq has authored books for Wiley-Blackwell, O'Reilly Media, and Taylor & Francis Group, and has also worked as a Prerelease Community Manager at Adobe.

Rafiq Elmansy holds a PhD in Industrial and Product Design from Northumbria University, which they obtained from 2017 to 2021. Prior to this, they earned a Master's degree in Design Management from Staffordshire University, completing it from 2013 to 2016. In addition to their higher education degrees, Rafiq Elmansy has obtained several certifications throughout their education and career. Rafiq completed an Introduction to Learning & Teaching course at Northumbria University in February 2018. In January 2018, they participated in the AHRC Next Generation Design Research Workshop at The University of Edinburgh and the Digital Health Sandpit Workshop at Northumbria University. Rafiq also completed GDPR Staff awareness training at Northumbria University in January 2018. Before their graduate studies, Rafiq Elmansy obtained the CLT's Teaching Enhancement Certificate I from The American University in Cairo in June 2016. Additionally, in January 2008, they became an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) in several applications.
