Richard Warburton started their work experience in 2006 as a PhD student at the University of Warwick, specializing in the specification, generation, and verification of program transformations. Richard also taught undergraduate students various programming courses during their time there.
In 2010, they co-founded Insightful Logic, an early-stage startup where they were responsible for the strategic direction of technology development and various forms of static bytecode analysis. Richard worked there until 2012.
From 2012 to 2014, Richard worked at jClarity as a principal software engineer. Richard'sresponsibilities included designing and implementing a performance diagnostic model, developing a low overhead CPU Cache Profiler, and working on a garbage collection log visualizer and analyzer.
In 2013, they became an author at O'Reilly Media, where they wrote a book called "Java 8 Lambdas" that explained how to use lambda expressions and functional programming idioms in Java 8.
Starting in 2014, Richard worked at Monotonic Ltd. as a software developer, author, and trainer. Richard also provided training courses online.
Since 2017, Richard has been the CTO at Opsian, a company that sells low overhead production profiling and observability tooling. Richard'srole involves helping customers improve their end-user experience, create capacity and scale, and reduce infrastructure costs.
Richard Warburton attended the University of Warwick from 2002 to 2006, where they earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Computer Science.
