Dotan Uzi, PhD has a diverse work experience in the biotechnology and medical research industries. In their current role as the Director of Tumor Vaccination Programs at Orgenesis Inc. since 2020, they are responsible for managing all program-related teams and departments, as well as tailoring innovative automation systems and cleanrooms for therapeutic point of cares. Dotan also ensures synchronization between management agendas and business strategy with process development and production capabilities.
Prior to this, Dotan served as the Research and Development Manager at Stem Cell Medicine Ltd from 2014 to 2020. In this role, they led the R&D department in product definition, upscaling, and manufacturing. Dotan successfully developed products from the idea stage to certified GMP manufacturing units, maintaining strict time frames and accurate process management. Dotan's earlier experience includes their role as a PhD student in Medical Research at Hebrew University from 2010 to 2014. Dotan conducted comprehensive and compelling research on hepatic medicine, focusing on hepatitis, liver cancer, and drug poisoning. Their research was published in a leading journal in the field, and they were invited to write a chapter in a textbook on liver medicine.
Dotan also co-founded and served as the Chief Biologist at Clearance Ltd from 2008 to 2010. In this role, they managed tech transfer and integrated technology from Thailand into the clean-tech industry. Through accurate pilot planning and business development, they streamlined production processes and achieved maximum profit at competitive prices.
Dotan's early experience also includes working as a Consultant at BioLineRx Ltd and GLPigs, Assaf Harofeh. Dotan provided consultation based on their published M.Sc. work, specifically in conducting stress-free in-vivo models for pre-treatment of kidney failure.
Dotan Uzi, PhD, has a strong educational background in the field of genetics and biology. In 2004, they obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Following this, from 2006 to 2008, Dotan Uzi pursued their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Human/Medical Genetics at the same institution.
Dotan Uzi furthered their academic career by earning a PhD degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in January 2015. This was obtained from the Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment.
