Kristina Cunningham

Kristina Cunningham has over 15 years of experience working in the legal field. Kristina currently holds the position of Senior Legal Counsel and Senior Vice President at Origin Bank, starting in 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Associate at Crain Caton & James from 2021 to 2022. From 2018 to 2021, they served as an Associate at Hirsch & Westheimer, P.C.

Before joining Hirsch & Westheimer, P.C., Kristina worked for nearly a decade at Ballard & Littlefield, LLP. During their time there, they served as an Associate, representing corporate clients in arbitration, state and federal courts, and regulatory agencies. Kristina also handled employment-related matters, including non-compete disputes and constructive discharge cases. In addition, they worked as a Contract Attorney handling similar responsibilities for the firm.

Prior to their tenure at Ballard & Littlefield, LLP, Kristina worked as a Contract Attorney and Solo Practitioner at Kristina L. Cashion, Attorney at Law. Kristina provided local counsel for creditors in collection matters and prepared bankruptcy pleadings for corporations. Kristina also performed lien searches.

Earlier in their career, Kristina served as a Contract Attorney in the bankruptcy division at Wolf Family Management Company and as an Associate at Manuel Solis Law Firm. Kristina gained valuable experience as an Associate at Rene Gonzalez and Associates, representing clients in misdemeanor cases and negotiating plea bargains.

Kristina's early legal career includes a role as a Contract Attorney for Update Legal - P2 Energy Project, where they reviewed contracts and conducted legal research for a company in the energy industry. Kristina also worked as a Certified Post-Bar Intern at the San Diego County Office of the Public Defender.

Through their diverse work experiences, Kristina has developed a strong background in various areas of law, including corporate litigation, employment law, bankruptcy, criminal defense, and contract review.

Kristina Cunningham earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications - Journalism from the University of St. Thomas (TX) from 1999 to 2003. Kristina went on to receive a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of Houston Law Center from 2003 to 2006.
