Kevin Ross

Kevin Ross is the current Research Director of Orion Health, as well as the CEO of Precision Driven Health. Kevin has also held the position of Advisory Board Chair for NAOI (Natural, Artificial and Organisational Intelligence) Institute, and Council Member for Digital Council for Aotearoa New Zealand.

Ross has been in the healthcare industry for over 20 years. Kevin started their career as a Board Member for Health Informatics New Zealand (HiNZ), where they served for 3 years and 9 months. Kevin then transitioned to Director of Research for Orion Health, where they have been for the past 6 years and 6 months. In this role, Ross has been focusing on utilising analytics and data science to improve clinical workflow, decision-making and patient-centered care. This work has led to Ross being appointed as the CEO of Precision Driven Health, a research partnership between New Zealand’s health IT sector, health providers and universities, aimed at improving health outcomes through data science. Ross has been with Precision Driven Health since its inception in 2016, and is currently invested $38m over seven years in collaborations.

Kevin Ross holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University in Management Science and Engineering, which they obtained in 2004. Kevin also has a Master's degree from Stanford in Engineering Economic Systems & Operations Research, which they received in 2001. Prior to attending Stanford, Kevin Ross studied Mathematics at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, where they graduated with a BSc(hons) in 1998.
