Alex Cranston

Textile Engineer at OROS

Alex Cranston has been working in the textile engineering field since 2022, when they joined OROS as a Textile Engineer. In this role, they developed proprietary material technologies for the US DoD, consumer outerwear apparel, protective apparel, and industrial and commercial products. They also conducted physical testing and characterization of textiles, aerogels and composite materials. Prior to OROS, Cranston worked at the Manufacturing Solutions Center from 2018-2022 as a Knitting Research and Development specialist. In this role, they researched and developed circular knit goods on Santoni Seamless knitting machines, with products including shapewear, undergarments, and compression athletic wear. This role also included cut and sew experience.

Alex Cranston attended North Carolina State University from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Textile Engineering.
