Michael Brand

Michael Brand, M.D. is an experienced orthopedic surgeon with a distinguished career in sports medicine and shoulder and knee surgery. Currently serving as the Interim Chief Executive Officer at OrthoConnecticut since July 2024, Michael previously held the position of President at the same organization for over three decades, from July 1991 to May 2022. Michael's expertise encompasses reconstructive knee surgery, arthroscopic procedures, and sports injuries. Training includes a fellowship at UC San Diego Health System specializing in sports medicine, as well as Chief Resident experience at Massachusetts General Hospital. Michael's education includes a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Rochester School of Medicine, completion of the Harvard Combined Orthopedic Residency Program, and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Union College.
