Anna R. King

Physician at Ortho Rhode Island

Dr. King is a board-certified, fellowship-trained physician offering unique expertise in Non-Operative Pediatric Orthopedics. Informed by her background in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, she draws upon her foundations in neuromuscular and musculoskeletal medicine to help guide care. Under the direction of internationally respected pediatric orthopedic surgeons, Dr. King’s fellowship training at Boston Children’s Hospital provides the knowledge, skills, and qualifications to safely and effectively manage a broad spectrum of orthopedic disorders in children and adolescents.

It is estimated that nearly 85% of these conditions can be treated non-operatively. While certain problems require immediate or eventual surgical referral based on the standards of care outlined by the AAOS, the majority can be managed on an outpatient basis, often requiring long-standing observation during growth. Dr. King commonly cares for children and adolescents with scoliosis, developmental hip dysplasia, fractures, leg length discrepancy, lower extremity alignment and gait concerns (in-toeing, out-toeing, knock-knees, bowed legs, toe-walking), clubfeet, spondylolysis/spondylolisthesis, and sports medicine injuries.

Dr. King loves taking care of kids because they bring out the best in her. Her philosophy is simple: each patient deserves careful attention, a thorough exam, and an age-appropriate understanding of the problem and treatment options. She partners with families to create safe and effective care plans that can accommodate their lifestyle and preferences. Her goal is to bring cost-effective, convenient, and reliable pediatric orthopedic care into the community. She hopes to serve as a valuable resource for Rhode Island families and their dedicated primary care physicians.
