Matthew Shortt

Matthew Shortt, MBA, PA-C has a diverse work experience, primarily in the healthcare industry. Matthew currently serves as the Director of Operations at OrthoVirginia since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Consultant at DePuy Synthes Institute, LLC starting from 2019. Before that, they held the position of Director of Operations at HCA Healthcare Physician Services Group from 2021 to 2022. Matthew also worked at HCA Healthcare, where they served as the Director of Physician Services II from 2021 to 2021, and as the Administrator of the Orthopedic Service Line from 2019 to 2021. In addition, they worked as a Physician Assistant Certified at Sideline Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, LLC from 2017 to 2019, and at HCA Healthcare from 2007 to 2017.

Matthew Shortt, MBA, PA-C completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physician Assistant studies from Jefferson College of Health Sciences in 2007. Prior to that, they studied Human Nutrition at Virginia Tech from 2000 to 2002. In 2019, they obtained a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from The Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School. Matthew Shortt also holds various certifications as a healthcare professional, including being a certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) in 2007. Matthew is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (2019), Virginia Academy of PAs (2007), and the American Academy of PAs (2007).
