Douglas Faller

Global Chief Medical Officer at Oryzon Genomics

Dr. Faller holds an M.D. from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in Cancer Molecular Biology, and a B.S. in Biochemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has been a professor at Harvard Medical School/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital. He held the Grunebaum Chair for Cancer Research at Boston University and was a professor of Medicine, Biochemistry, Pediatrics, Microbiology, Pathology, and Laboratory Medicine. He founded the Cancer Center at Boston University, served as the Director of the Center, and also as Vice-Chairman of the Department of Medicine. He is the scientific founder of multiple biotech companies. He has served as CMO and CSO of a number of companies, including, most recently, Viracta Therapeutics. He has served as Executive Medical Director and Global Clinical Leader at Takeda for more than 5 years. Dr. Faller has over 30 years of clinical hematology/oncology expertise and broad drug development experience in the design and execution of early to registrational clinical programs across oncology and rare diseases.
