Director, Head Of Markets Technology at OSL

Rob Fowler has extensive work experience in the technology industry, holding various roles throughout their career. Rob is currently serving as the Director and Head of Markets Technology at OSL since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Technical Lead at Macquarie Telecom Group from February 2020 to September 2021. Rob also served as the Matching Engine Lead Developer at Interdax from May 2018 to January 2020.

Before their roles at OSL, Macquarie Telecom Group, and Interdax, Rob worked at Spriggy as a Lead Backend Developer and Devops Lead from November 2015 to January 2018. Rob was responsible for developing the Python backend systems and payment gateways for Spriggy. Rob also built the Devops infrastructure for testing and deploying the backend and payment systems.

Prior to Spriggy, Rob worked at easyshare as a Lead Payment Systems Developer and Devops Lead from December 2014 to October 2015. Rob developed the Python batch payment system for the Easyshare platform and created devops scripts in Saltstack for testing and deploying the payment management backend.

Before their roles at Spriggy and easyshare, Rob worked as a Lead Backend Developer at Booodl from March 2013 to January 2014. Rob was responsible for the development of backend systems.

Rob's early career includes founding their own company, Mianos, in 2009 where they focused on software and micro-controller development. Rob also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at NASDAQ OMX from February 2005 to October 2007 and at Computershare from February 1998 to January 2005, specializing in trading systems development. Rob started their career as a Senior Software Engineer at Financial Market Software Consultants from January 1994 to January 1998, where they worked on core trading systems and options trading systems development.

Rob Fowler attended the Department of Aviation Engineering College from 1984 to 1999, where they focused on Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering.
