VP Product and Head of Visual Experience at Ostendo Technologies

Jason McDowall's work experience begins in 2008 as the Director of Product Management - Mobile at Salesforce.com. During their tenure, they led the development of mobile collaboration and CRM apps, increased active mobile users, and received recognition from Apple Inc.

In 2012, McDowall joined Nimble as the Director of Product. Jason focused on nurturing stronger business relationships and providing insights about contacts, helping teams engage and close more business opportunities.

In 2013, they co-founded Stitch App and served as the Head of Product. The company built a smart sales assistant that analyzed data to suggest high-value tasks to sales reps and managers.

McDowall joined SugarCRM in 2015 as the Sr. Director of Product Strategy, where they established and validated a new mobile product strategy and led M&A diligence.

Jason then became the VP of Product at Velocify in 2015, driving the product vision and execution of software development to deliver a best-in-class sales engagement tool for B2B companies.

In 2017, McDowall became an Advisor and Investor at Deep North, an AI-driven video analytics company, where they provided guidance on product strategy and growth initiatives.

Jason also served as a Mentor at Amplify.la, a startup accelerator and entrepreneurial campus focused on mobile, SaaS, and enterprise software.

Starting in 2018, McDowall created and hosted The AR Show, a podcast series that delves into the world of Augmented Reality and Smartglasses.

Most recently, in 2016, they became the VP Product and Head of Visual Experience at Ostendo Technologies, a company combining microprocessor design with photonics to make light smarter.

Jason McDowall has earned a Master's degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and also holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering and Economics from the same institution. Additionally, they have completed an MBA in Business from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
