Anna Hornberger has a diverse range of work experience spanning over a decade. Anna started as a Product Designer at Formfjord in 2009 before transitioning into Freelance Design, specializing in Industrial Design, Graphic Design, and Creative Facilitation. During this time, they worked with companies such as Volkswagen, Itallamp, and ANWB. From 2015 to 2016, they worked as a UX and Service Designer at MediaLAB Amsterdam, where they focused on developing Greengrid, an application and website for managing electric car charging and energy sharing.
Following this, Anna took on the role of Service Designer and Workshop Facilitator for Get Green Vietnam, where they organized co-creation workshops with middle-sized companies and their customers to promote sustainable behavior change. Anna then joined Design United NL as a Workshop Organizer for the IoT, exploring the role of design in the Internet of Things landscape.
In 2016, Anna began working at wearereasonablepeople as a UX and Service Designer, working with clients such as Philips, Port of Rotterdam, and ING. Anna also organized and moderated design talks for This Happened NL, an international design talk format held in Hamburg, London, and Rotterdam.
In 2019, Anna joined VodafoneZiggo as a Senior User Researcher and Strategic UX Designer, where they established the UX research function and worked as a user researcher and strategic designer. Anna also contributed to research ops and coaching designers in user experience research.
In 2021, Anna moved to sennder as a UX Research Lead, responsible for setting up and leading a user research practice. Anna created a research strategy and conducted strategic and international research for the company. Anna later transitioned to the role of UX Research Manager before joining Lighthouse in 2023 as the Team Lead of User Research & Product Analytics. In this position, they manage and grows the user research and product analytics team while focusing on strategic research and foundational work such as segmentation and personas. Anna also supports the team through coaching and the implementation of research operation processes.
Anna Hornberger received their Abitur from Ev. Moerike Gymnasium in Germany in 2006. Anna then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial and Product Design at Hochschule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd from 2007 to 2011. In 2010, they also had the opportunity to study Industrial Design/Service Design as an exchange student at Politecnico di Milano. Anna later attended Delft University of Technology from 2013 to 2016, earning a Master of Science degree in Design for Interaction. Additionally, they completed an AS Level course at Beaufort Community School in the United Kingdom in 2003-2004.
