Ottawa Hospital Research Institute
Steffany Bennett is a distinguished academic and researcher, currently serving as a Professor and University Research Chair in Neurolipidomics at the University of Ottawa since April 1999. In addition to this role, Bennett is the Associate Director of the Centre for Catalysis Research and Innovation and the Scientific Director of the Neural Regeneration Laboratory. Bennett also acts as a Special Advisor to the President on Diversity and Inclusion. Concurrently, Bennett has been an Affiliate Scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute since July 2014 and previously directed the STIHR/CIHR Training Program in Neurodegenerative Lipidomics from January 2009 to March 2015. Earlier career experiences include positions as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Harvard Medical School and the W. Alton Jones Cell Science Centre. Bennett holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Ottawa, earned between 1989 and 1995.
