Melissa D'Amora

Outreach Worker at Ottawa Public Health

Melissa D'Amora has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Melissa started their career in 2006 as a Youth Empowerment & Transition Worker at the Ottawa Independent Living Resource Centre. From 2009 to 2011, they worked as a Residential Counsellor at the Total Communication Environment. In 2011, they joined the Carlington Community Health Centre as a Counselling Team Program Coordinator/Counsellor, where they worked until 2015. During that time, they also started working at the Algonquin College as a Professor. In 2012, they became an Outreach Worker at Ottawa Public Health - Santé publique Ottawa. From 2015 to 2017, they worked as a Social Worker/System Navigator at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.

Melissa D'Amora has a strong education background in the field of social work. Melissa completed their Bachelor of Social Work degree at Carleton University from 2008 to 2010. Following this, they pursued further studies and earned a Master of Social Work degree from the same institution, which they completed from 2012 to 2013.

Before entering university, Melissa attended Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology. Here, they gained a solid foundation in social services through their completion of a Social Service Worker Diploma from 2005 to 2006.

In addition to their formal education, Melissa holds the certification of a Registered Social Worker from the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. The details regarding the institution and the year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
