Neil Doherty

Neil Doherty is a seasoned manufacturing engineer manager currently leading at Otto Aviation since January 2024. Previously, extensive experience at Virgin Galactic spanned from June 2020 to January 2024 in various roles, including specialist engineer and senior engineer focused on interiors and structures. Prior to this, Neil held significant positions at The Spaceship Company and Gulfstream Aerospace from 2017 to 2020, contributing to advanced cabin development and structural design. Career development began with roles at Zodiac Aerospace - Driessen and Jamco America, where Neil specialized in mechanical design for aircraft interiors. Early career experience includes engineering positions at D3 Technologies, TIMCO, and Boeing Commercial Airplanes, emphasizing mechanical and structural design. Neil holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Structures Engineering from the University of Manitoba and is a certified engineering technologist in mechanical engineering technology from RRC Polytech.
