Senior Data Scientist at Our Future Health

Emma Vestesson has a strong background in data analysis and research. Emma is currently working as a Data Scientist at Our Future Health UK since April 2023. Prior to that, they worked at The Health Foundation from June 2017 to March 2023, where they served as a Principal Data Analyst from September 2022 to March 2023, a Senior Data Analyst from January 2020 to August 2022, and a Data Analyst in the IAU from June 2017 to January 2020.

Before joining The Health Foundation, Emma worked at the Royal College of Physicians as a Senior SSNAP Data Analyst from May 2014 to June 2017. In this role, they analyzed large datasets of patient-level data and successfully increased participation rates.

Emma also gained experience as a Database Assistant at the Copyright Licensing Agency during a short-term contract in February 2014. Additionally, they worked as a Consultant (Economic Research) at WIPO from August 2013 to December 2013, where they cleaned and constructed data sets and contributed to the analysis and drafting of a country study.

Prior to that, Emma interned at both WIPO and the World Trade Organization in various roles, including Intern (Economic Research & Statistics) at the World Trade Organization from May 2013 to July 2013, and Intern (Statistics & Economics) at WIPO from October 2012 to April 2013. During these internships, they collected and analyzed trade statistics, cleaned and created data visualizations, and worked on research projects.

Emma Vestesson has an extensive education history. Emma began their academic journey in 2005, when they attended Lycée Louis Armand for a year abroad during their high school studies. Emma then went on to enroll at Söderport gymnasiet, where they obtained their International Baccalaureate in 2008.

Following their secondary education, Emma attended Lund University from 2008 to 2011. At Lund University, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.

In 2010, Emma took part in an Erasmus program at the University of Leeds, where they studied Mathematics for a year.

Continuing their academic pursuits, Emma obtained a Master's degree in Specialised Economic Analysis from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in 2012. Emma'sfocus during this program was on International Trade, Finance, and Development.

Emma's educational journey did not stop there. Emma then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Clinical Data Science at UCL, starting in 2019 and expected to graduate in 2023.

In addition to their formal education, Emma has also sought additional certifications to enhance their skills. Emma has completed courses such as "Computing for Data Analysis" on Coursera and "Data Manipulation in R with dplyr," "Data Visualization with ggplot2 (Part 1)," and "Reporting with R Markdown" on DataCamp. The specific months and years when they obtained these certifications are not provided.
