Katie Schanze

Katie Schanze is an experienced editorial professional with a focus on digital content and magazine publishing. Currently serving as Associate Editor, Digital Content Editor, and Assistant Editor at Our State Magazine since January 2017, Katie has cultivated skills in writing, editing, and content management. Previous roles include Communications and Events Coordinator for the North Carolina Scholastic Media Association and Copy Editor for Sand & Pine Magazine and Pinehurst Living Magazine. Katie's early career also includes editorial internships at Chapel Hill Magazine and Durham Magazine, where responsibilities involved blog writing, social media promotion, and fact-checking. Katie holds a Master’s Degree in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Appalachian State University.
