Outdoor Afro
Camille Rochester currently serves as Operations Director at Outdoor Afro, a position held since April 2022. Prior to this role, Camille worked at 501 Commons as Community Engagement Manager from November 2018 to March 2022, overseeing initiatives like the Washington Gives campaign and volunteer engagement. Additional experience includes serving as Community Engagement Coordinator at 501 Commons, Volunteer & Community Relations Coordinator at Seafair, and various roles at the Girl Scouts of Western Washington. Camille began a career in development as an intern at YouthCare Seattle. Camille holds a Master of Public Administration from Seattle University and a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from Western Washington University.

Outdoor Afro is a national not-for-profit organization that celebrates and inspires Black connections and leadership in nature. What started as a kitchen table blog by Founder and CEO Rue Mapp in 2009 has since grown into a cutting-edge nationwide movement with 100-plus volunteer leaders in up to 60 cities. Our participation network has grown to reach 60,000 people and counting. Outdoor Afro reconnects Black people with the outdoors through outdoor education, recreation, and conservation.
