Head of HR at Outplay Entertainment

Emma Turner is currently the Head of HR at Outplay Entertainment. Prior to their current position, they were the HR Manager at Cohort Studios Ltd from March 2006 to June 2011. At Cohort Studios, Emma was responsible for developing the HR function to work strategically to meet the needs of both the highly talented people employed there and the business itself. Once established, they built on the company’s desire to have its team work as partners to the business by working with the board to gain Investors in People recognition for the business. Emma used the process to identify areas for improvement within the company that they had set out to build. Emma attended the Investors in people business improvement programme to ensure the improvements they made would deliver what was needed back into the studio. This was a great success and saw the introduction of many new people focused initiatives that brought direct improvement to the working culture at Cohort such as the development of a communication map and improved performance management measures. Emma covered all areas of HR within the business including recruitment, reward, learning and development and employee relations, providing a true generalist service to the business alongside strategic HR management.

Emma Turner has a postgraduate degree in human resources management from the CIPD - Chartered Institute of Personnel Development. Emma has worked in human resources for several years and is currently a manager in a large organization.

They are on a team with Raphaël Labouré - Head of Growth Marketing, Graham Galvin - Head of Art, and Gill Gray - CFO. Their manager is Douglas Hare, Co-Founder & CEO.
