Brian Hartwell

Brian Hartwell has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Brian currently works at Outreach as a Staff Product Designer since May 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Rover.com as a Senior Product Designer from May 2020 to June 2023. At Rover.com, they served as a design lead and mentor for a team of 4 designers, focusing on the core experience across iOS, Android, and web platforms. Brian also spearheaded a customer journey mapping effort, resulting in prioritizing customer-focused projects.

Before Rover.com, Brian worked at Redfin as a Senior Product Designer from December 2015 to March 2018. In this role, they led the design for listing agent products, mentored interns and junior designers, and maintained visual consistency across the product. Prior to that, they were a UX/UI Designer II at Redfin from October 2014 to December 2015.

Prior to their tenure at Redfin, Brian was self-employed from April 2009 to October 2014, working as a Designer, Illustrator, and Developer. Before that, they worked at Trent Design as an Interactive Creative Director from May 2006 to June 2014. At Trent Design, they transformed the focus from print to digital media, led the design for award-winning websites and marketing campaigns, and introduced UX concepts to the studio. Brian also produced visual designs and developed websites.

Brian Hartwell attended the College for Creative Studies from 2003 to 2007. During this time, they obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design, with a concentration in Interactive Communication.
