Joe Akture

Joe Akture has a strong background in program management and cybersecurity. Joe is currently working as a Sr. Technical Program Manager in Info Security at Outreach since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Deltek as a Senior Cybersecurity Project Manager from 2020 to 2022. In their previous roles, Joe held positions at DocuSign as a Senior Security Program Manager from 2015 to 2019, RealNetworks as a Senior Program Manager from 2011 to 2014, Expedia as a Program Manager II from 2010 to 2011, Microsoft Corporation as a Program Manager II from 2006 to 2009, Kaplan University as a Program Manager in 2006, Assurant Solutions as a Snr. Project Manager from 2005 to 2006, and American Express as a Project Manager from 1996 to 2005. Throughout their career, Joe has demonstrated expertise in leading teams, managing projects, and implementing security measures.

Joe Akture completed their B.A. in Economics at Boğaziçi University from 1986 to 1990. Joe then pursued an M.B.A. in Business Administration at Florida International University, which they completed from 1991 to 1995. In terms of additional certifications, Joe obtained the Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute in August 2005. Joe also achieved the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA) certification from Amazon Web Services in December 2019. Lastly, Joe obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² in November 2016.
