System Safety Engineer at Outrider

Vasanth Subramaniam has a diverse work experience in the field of functional and system safety engineering. Vasanth started their career as a Research Intern at VDL Bus & Coach, where they developed an engine torque/speed controller model. Later, they worked at BRACE Automotive as a Master Thesis Student, focusing on open-source modeling and code generation tools for automotive embedded software development.

After that, Vasanth joined Punch Powertrain as a Powertrain Controls Engineer, where they were responsible for the integration and interfaces for Dual Clutch Transmission. Vasanth also developed interface software components for application software and worked on the software integration process.

At DAF Trucks NV, Vasanth served as a Functional Safety Engineer and was responsible for delivering functional safety work products for ADAS and CO2 reduction vehicle level functions. Vasanth additionally managed external consultants and maintained all functional safety work products in Doors Next Gen.

Vasanth then joined Saietta Electric Drive as a System and Functional Safety Engineer, where they worked on system and functional safety aspects. Vasanth collaborated with suppliers and internal development teams to ensure the safety of the embedded controller unit.

Currently, Vasanth is employed at Outrider as a System Safety Engineer.

Vasanth Subramaniam holds a Master's degree in Automotive Technology, which they obtained from Eindhoven University of Technology between 2014 and 2016. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Automobile Engineering at Tamilnadu College of Engineering from 2010 to 2014. Their education history dates back to their high school years, as they attended Sri Ramakrishna matriculation higher secondary School from 1998 to 2010, where they focused on Computer Science. In addition to their academic qualifications, Vasanth has also obtained certifications including NEN-9140 from HSdeHaan - Trainingen in May 2018, and ISO 26262 - SW development training from SGS-TÜV Saar.
