Position Overview:

The EHS Coordinator leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company EHS programs. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, leading brigades, and training employees. This position works together with other departments such as Facilities and Medical Services to design effective strategies to ensure the employees’ health and safety.

This role is also responsible for reducing our site environmental impact while following local, state, and federal regulations.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and updating safety policies and procedures in compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Creation, deployment, and execution of safety auditing process.
  • Liaison with Tacna team to maintains safety files and records required by law.
  • Tracking and presenting site’s safety data and KPI’s on LDMs and monthly reporting.
  • Conducting risk assessments, Gemba walks and developing control measures to minimize workplace hazards and waste disposition.
  • Providing training and guidance to employees on health and safety procedures.
  • Investigating accidents and incidents, identifying root causes, and executing corrective actions
  • Lead and organize the safety brigades and conduct frequent training exercises and conducting drills.
  • Maintain compliance and promote environmental regulations and good practices.
  • Develop and management of emergency response plans.
  • Works together with Medical Services to promote health campaigns and ensure employees health onsite.
  • Support and assessment of new equipment installations.
  • Support additional activities, as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of related experience in EHS function in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the STPS, NOMS, internal policies and other relevant safety regulations
  • Proficiency in MS Office products
  • Ability to conduct safety audits, inspections, and investigations.
  • Fluent in English (both written and verbal).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Industrial Hygienist, Professional Ergonomist, IOSH Certification or related.
  • Experience in the medical manufacturing industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of effectively train and educate employees on safety practices and procedure
