Sierra Shafer

Sierra Shafer serves as the Editorial Director for Lifestyle at Outside since January 2021, overseeing editorial staff and strategic direction for six prominent brands in the outdoor lifestyle sphere, including SKI and Backpacker. Previously, Sierra held the position of Editor-in-Chief at SKI Magazine, where editorial strategy was developed across various platforms and a successful rebranding initiative was executed in 2021. Sierra's editorial experience extends back to positions at Powder Magazine, progressing from Assistant Editor to Editorial Director, and includes roles such as Lifestyle Editor at the Palisadian Post and Reporter at The Herald-Standard and Greene County Messenger. An education in Communication and Journalism was obtained from Waynesburg University.
