João Neves has a diverse range of work experience in the software engineering field. João started their career as a trainee at INESC-ID, where they worked on software research projects focusing on mobile devices and wireless technologies. Following that, they joined Link Consulting as an intern developer, where they researched and implemented a multiplatform application targeting mobile devices for their MSc thesis.
In 2008, João Neves joined OutSystems as a Software Engineer and worked on various projects in the Research and Development department. João was responsible for implementing projects using technologies such as C#, Microsoft .Net Framework, WPF, Java, SQL, and web-based technologies.
Over the years, João Neves advanced in their career at OutSystems, taking on roles with increasing responsibilities. João became a Senior Software Engineer, where they were responsible for product architectural design, technical guidance, supervision, and mentoring. João then transitioned to a Lead Software Engineer role, where they worked on the OutSystems IDE's architectural design, technical guidance, supervision, and talent development.
Currently, João Neves holds the position of Principal Software Engineer at OutSystems. In this role, they are responsible for the architectural design and implementation of project Morpheus, an AI-powered development tool. João ensures technical guidance and supervision for several developers, as well as mentoring and developing technical talent. João has also played a significant role in the development of the OutSystems cross-platform IDE.
João Neves completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico in 2007. João then pursued their Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Engineering from the same institution, which they completed in 2008. Additionally, João obtained certifications as an OutSystems Support Technician and an OutSystems Associate Developer in 2008. João also completed a Brief Course in Information Systems Usability at Faculdade de Motricidade Humana - Universidade Técnica de Lisboa in 2011. Further, they obtained the First Certificate in English (FCE) Level 3 from the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate in 2001.
