Alan Coulter

Alan Coulter possesses extensive experience in outdoor leadership and education, having served as an instructor for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) since 1997, primarily focusing on sea kayaking alongside backpacking and canoeing. Additionally, Alan has been involved with the North Carolina Outward Bound School as an instructor since 1990 and contributed as an adjunct staff member at Elon University from 2010 to 2016, co-leading a course on sustainability. Alan's educational background includes a Master of Science in Teaching with a focus on Environmental Communications from Antioch University New England, a Master of Education in Foundations of Education and Counseling from the University of Vermont, and a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from Yale University.
