Robin Brudner

Robin Brudner is a board member at OverActive Media and has over 20 years of experience in the sports and entertainment industry. Robin began their career with the Toronto Raptors in 1995 and was the first female in-house counsel for an NBA team. When the Toronto Maple Leafs purchased the Raptors in 1998, Robin became the first General Counsel for the Leafs. Robin was a member of the executive management team that strategically built MLSE into a sports and entertainment leader in North America and was involved in all major strategic corporate initiatives at the strategy, development and implementation stages. As MLSE's Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Robin was responsible for the legal matters relating to all of the Company’s and its subsidiaries, sports and business operations, including the Maple Leafs, Raptors, Toronto FC, Toronto Marlies, Air Canada Centre, BMO Field, Ricoh Coliseum, Maple Leaf Square, Leafs TV, NBA TV Canada, GOL TV as well as its charitable foundation. Her responsibilities included negotiating, drafting and providing advice on a wide range of matters including, corporate sponsorships, mergers and acquisitions, event licenses, employment matters, content/broadcasting agreements, certain player issues and arbitrations, intellectual property, retail and food and beverage matters, as well as litigation management and having overall responsibility for the management of the legal department. In addition, Robin led the MLSE team on the sale of the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan’s majority interest in MLSE to Bell and Rogers Communications Inc. for $1.32B. This transaction was the largest sports transaction in Canadian history and required the approval of three sports leagues, the CRTC and the Competition Bureau.

In their role as Board Of Directors and Chair of Human Resources, Compensation and Governance Committee at OverActive Media Group, Robin is responsible for overseeing a governance review and implementing significant governance enhancements, which include the creation of a successful new nominations process, new committee structures and mandates, succession planning and several new board effectiveness measures. Robin also serves as a business and strategic advisor on a variety of matters to Management and the Board.

Robin has been Vice Chair of the Board of Directors at Dress for Success Toronto Chapter for 7 years 3 months. In this role, they are responsible for helping women in need by providing them with professional attire to help them succeed in job interviews and beyond.

Robin is also President of Orbit Leadership Inc., a company that provides leadership development programs for individuals and organizations. Robin has been in this role for 7 years.

Robin Brudner has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from York University and a Bachelor of Laws from York University - Osgoode Hall Law School. Robin is also a recipient of the Student Honour Award for Outstanding Contribution to the School.
