Director of Policy & Government Affairs at Overair

Melissa McCaffrey has worked in the field of government affairs and policy since 2012. Melissa began their career at the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) as a Western Pacific Regional Manager, Government Affairs, where they managed government affairs, policy and advocacy issues affecting general aviation. Melissa then moved on to become a Senior Government Analyst, Air Traffic Services, where they managed issues in the technical fields of airspace, air traffic services, instrument flight procedures, charting, weather, and other related policies. In 2022, they began working at Overair as the Director of Policy & Government Affairs, where they are responsible for developing and executing an impactful and comprehensive government relations and policy strategy for Overair at all levels of government. Melissa also advocates for Overair's position on policy and regulation, ensuring stances are known at the local, state, and national levels, and works closely with industry, key stakeholders, and community groups to advocate for policy related to sustainability and Advanced Air Mobility.

Melissa McCaffrey obtained their Private Pilot certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in 2002. Melissa then went on to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University from 2002 to 2006, where they earned their Bachelor's degree in Air Traffic Management.
