As a kid, Lauren used to design magazines on stapled loose-leaf paper for hair care products, selling at $2 a bottle and consisting of a 1:4 shampoo to water ratio. She sold two bottles, and one was to her mom. Hoping to make this hobby into a real profit, she decided to pursue graphic design.
Graduating with a BFA in Graphic Design from SUNY New Paltz, her creative journey has taken her from the North Country, to the scenic Hudson Valley, and eventually to the Capital Region with her Overit colleagues.
With a background in writing and illustration, Lauren’s goal as a designer is to emphasize creativity and human connection. Her connection to writing and creating magazines for fake hair care products led her to a design role in the publishing industry at the start of her career, and she uses the foundational typesetting skills she developed to influence her current design work. Additionally, with a love for children’s book illustrations, she strives to make her designs playful and welcoming.
As a junior designer at Overit, she’s excited to further develop her design skills and learn more about design trends within the marketing industry.
