Maryam Khosharay

Maryam Khosharay has over 15 years of global finance experience. She is a seasoned transactional attorney, management professional, and professor. Her experience includes debt finance, project finance, corporate finance, social impact funds, and credit guarantees. Maryam is skilled at structuring debt financing of projects, managing due diligence, and preparing and negotiating a myriad of complex transaction and project documents. Expertise includes development finance, infrastructure, and renewable energy with a proven track record of implementing strategies that yield positive financial and development outcomes.

Maryam teaches finance law at Georgetown Law and is a frequent speaker and contributor on business matters, including the use of equity and debt in development finance structures, coordination of technical assistance, and advising on commercial issues.

She is currently leading the Mission Transaction Unit (formerly the Development Credit Authority at USAID) at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation. Prior to this, Maryam was a finance associate at two international law firms and most recently she served as Deputy Assistant General Counsel at USAID for seven years covering credit programs. Maryam is the 2017 recipient of the Arnold Harberger Award for Economic Excellence, which is awarded by the USAID Administrator to one individual who has demonstrated innovative and far-reaching economic analysis and expertise.
