Trina Chiasson

Co-founder & CEO at Ovipost

Trina Chiasson has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Trina is the co-founder & CEO of Ovipost, where they focus on automation systems for insect farming. Trina was also a residency artist at Guerilla Science, where they designed and built an interactive art installation called The Entomophatron. Additionally, they worked as a visiting scientist at the American Museum of Natural History.

Trina has also had experience in the software industry, working as a senior product manager at Tableau Software. Trina was responsible for the development of Vizable, an iOS app for visual data analysis. Prior to that, they co-founded and served as CEO of Infoactive, which specialized in building interactive infographics with live data.

In their role as a data visualization research fellow at the Reynolds Journalism Institute, Trina conducted research on the use of visualizations in journalism and explored interactive data exploration on touchscreen devices. Trina also has experience as a consultant in UX and web strategy.

Earlier in their career, Trina worked as a lead web producer and editor at YouthNoise, where they managed online programs for the engagement division of Link TV. Trina also served on the board of directors and was a founding officer of Media Make Change, a social change organization.

Trina's work experience also includes a residency artist position at Pros Arts Studio, where they taught science and physics through juggling and circus arts in Chicago Public Schools.

Trina Chiasson earned a B.A. degree in Economics from the University of Southern Maine, where they studied from 2005 to 2007. Additionally, they pursued a Software Engineering Apprentice program at 8th Light from 2011 to 2012.
