Melissa Vanderkooy

Melissa Vanderkooy is an experienced professional in energy risk management, currently serving as the European Energy Manager at O-I since January 2021, where strategic risk management strategies for a €350m energy portfolio are developed and executed. Previously, Melissa held key roles at The HEINEKEN Company, including Commodity Price Risk Manager and Planning Manager, focusing on hedging strategies and cost-saving initiatives. Additionally, experience encompasses positions in risk analysis and consultancy at Mercuria Energy Trading S.A. and SOLVINT Supply Management, as well as foundational roles at The Nielsen Company and DUCA Financial Services. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from Dalhousie University and is an Executive MBA candidate at IMD. Further education includes a certificate in Strategic Decision and Risk Management from the Stanford Centre for Professional Development.
