The Manager, Pharma Business Development has the opportunity to support the BD team growing the business with pharmaceutical companies by :

  • Assisting with preparation of needed materials for each client engagement, and participate in client meetings and discussions;

  • Capturing meeting actions items and notes and share with the team flagging immediate, mid- and long-term client needs against the existing and growing capabilities of the company.

  • Assisting with structuring the collaboration proposals by owning internal delivery of specific components (e.g., business structure, timelines, costs)

  • Working with team members on creating statements of work and engaging with and incorporating inputs from R&D, IT, Legal, Lab, Data as needed.

  • Managing projects and their interdependencies by using company’s business operations tools for sales activities and project management to monitor activities.

  • Finding innovative ways to resolve problems and be comfortable with ambiguity.

The Manager, Pharma Business Development will report directly to the SVP, Pharma Business Development leading the BD team in the EU, and be a part of the global sales team. The position will require intimate cross team collaboration with our Platform, R&D, Legal, Operations and Strategy teams.

Preferred experience

About you

  • We are looking for someone sharing Owkin’s passion for patient care and collaboration with:

  • A University Degree with strong scientific and technical/IT background, preferably a Masters/PhD degree in the Sciences or IT/Technology (Molecular Biology, Epidemiology, HEOR, Genetics, Oncology, Statistics, AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, etc)

  • You have strong written and oral communication skills in English.

  • Good levels of experince in commercial/solutions sales experience to the Pharmaceutical / Biotech industry, with some experience with AI and RWE applications in research and clinical biology to understand human health and diseases, complex technology and/or consulting and/or service sales in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Familiar with a variety of platforms used to leverage multiple modalities of health data to make better decisions for doctors, patients, and drug development.

  • Experience supporting machine learning based methods to uncover disease-specific patient sub-types

  • Experience with RWD/RWE requirements and applications in precision medicine- A good understanding of their utility in clinical Research, patients stratifications and target identification.

  • Project management skills and problem Solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

  • Adaptability/Flexibility to change and prioritization in the workplace.

  • You are hands-on, experienced, proactive, independent, articulate and possess a good sense of humour, integrity and professionalism.

  • You have excellent communication and writing skills and you are computer literate (Google suite, Slack, Salesforce).
