Appakutty E. Kalainesan is an experienced cybersecurity and application security architect with a strong background in IoT product security and privacy compliance. Currently serving as the Sr. Principal Application Security Architect and IoT Product Security Lead at Owl Labs since September 2022, Appakutty has successfully developed security roadmaps and programs that significantly increased sales and improved security maturity. Prior roles include Global Cybersecurity Lead at Cummins Inc., where Appakutty's work on secure solutions for IoT devices led to substantial sales growth, and positions at Accenture, Dow, Altria, Fidelis Cybersecurity, and National Geographic Society, where Appakutty established and managed comprehensive security programs. Appakutty holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Sciences from the University of Maryland University College.
