Derek Liu

Derek Liu is currently the Managing Director at Owl Rock. Prior to that, they worked as a Principal at Apollo Global Management LLC from January 2014 to February 2017. Derek has also worked as a Director at Barclays Private Credit Partners LLC from October 2008 to December 2013, and as an Analyst and Associate at Barclays Capital from July 2006 to October 2008. Derek started their career as an Analyst at Citi from July 2005 to July 2006, and then worked as a Summer Analyst at Goldman Sachs from January 2004 to December 2004.

Derek Liu graduated from The Wharton School with a Bachelor of Economics in finance and information systems.

Their manager is Douglas I. Ostrover, Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer. They work with Junot Foradada - Chief Accounting Officer, Karen Hager - Managing Director, and Scott Turco - Managing Director.
